Association Saikorian- KRUSHI Home

Annual report 2017 By President Er.J.S.Rao

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Coming to Krushi,

  • I am happy to inform you that there has been both a qualitative and quantitative improvement in the various activities taken up by us. Some of the high lights are
  •  The present strength in Krushi Home is 95. It is our aim to increase the strength to 125 by takingtime to identify the needy children who would genuinely fit into the criteria.
  •  Academics wise, the children have been doing reasonably well although, I must concede thatthe performance could be better. Out of 7 boys who wrote 10 th class exam , 5 passed by securing 1st class of marks and 2 of them failed in 1 subject .
  • Mr.K.S.R.Kumar , Roll No 1000, an Alumni of Sainik School Korukonda, took over the charge as aresident director Krushi home. He along with his better half Mrs.Sarada is residing in the Krushi campus and are taking care of the children.
  •  The two boys B.Vijay & Yadagiri who failed in SSC, subsequently got reintegrated in hotelmanagement and as a Bike Mechanic . They are getting trained and are being paid a stipend of Rs. 7,000/- each and are capable of earning their bread.
  • This year overall 7 children were reintegrated successfully after completion of their professional courses.
  •  Around 45 boys and girls who completed 10 th class from surrounding govt. schools were givenspecial polytechnic coaching for 20 days at Krushi during summer to prepare them for Polytechnic Entrance exam. 35 of them have qualified including 5 boys from Krushi.
  • 15 government Schools near Krushi have been given support during last 4 years by way of infrastructure , additional teachers, teaching aids etc. The teachers and Headmasters of these schools are very cooperative and make it a point to attend the monthly Krushi meeting on thelast Sunday of every month. Results of schools for SSC has improved a lot compared to last year.
  •  Seeing the progress and overall general improvement in education standards in these schools,we have been flooded with requests for support from an additional 5 government schools during this academic year. We have promised support after conducting proper inspection and evaluation of such schools.
  • On the occasion of children’s day, organized sports meet at krushi premises. Over all 20 schoolsparticipated in the meet. Sports events were organized for boys and girls of primary and high school separately. Sports meet was held for 3 days and a total no of 800 students participated .
  • In an attempt to increase education levels of children studying in govt. schools, we approachedTech Mahindra for support and after due diligence funded a programme spread over a period of 5 years with an annual budget of around Rs.13lacs. The programme involves setting up of a pre-primary school with latest facilities and equipment within the premises of Srirangavaram primary school with qualified teachers and support staff. The idea is to give a good base to the children by the time they enter normal govt school specially with emphasis on English. Inspite of stiff resistance from the local Anganwadi staff, we were able to push ahead with the scheme. In the starting year, 36 children got enrolled in this school for LKG & UKG , 60 children in the second year and 90 children in the third year. The scheme also envisages quality improvement in the primary and high school of the same village. This year a total of 90 students got enrolled in LKG & UKG . Most of the children who were previously going to private schools took admission in the scheme newly introducedby us this year. Enrollments in Primary and High schools are also in good number.
  •  In Srirangavaram High school we mostly focused on the facilities of girls by providing sanitary Napkins , Bicycles to girl students , Furniture , Hygienic water supply ,Educational trips , Science fare etc.
  •  In this academic year Nuthankal village representatives approached us to support for 2 Teachers and an Ayah for which we have given support and there after totally 60 children took admissions into LKG and UKG and is running successfully now.
  •  We have been having consistent and regular monetary support from various organizations likePratt & Whitney and individuals like Dr.DSN Raju(support to govt. school teacher programme)and Saikorians. With increased living and maintenance costs at Krushi and its related activities,we are always on the lookout for various ways of raising money. Fortunately, the "Sponsor-a-
  • Meal & quot; programme continues to be a huge success. As of now, we have more than 250 Meal sponsorship donors.
  •  CPDO(Mrs.Thirumala) from child welfare department visited krushi and verified the list of children residing at krushi and facilities provided to them. She was impressed and appreciated the Alumni of Sainik School Korukonda for rendering a great service and for the facilities that areprovided. The State Govt. of Telangana issued a License valid for 3 years
  •  Krushi boy Rakesh , studying B.Pharmacy at MLR college , Dundigal cleared his 3rd year and got1st place in the entrance test organized by Masters pharmacy Academy and was given a free seat for GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) entrance coaching.
  • Ex-Krushi boys Venkata Rao is working in Saudi and Kishore is working in Dubai.
  •  Organized Science fair at Krushi premises on 04 Feburary 2017 on the occasion of Krushi AnnualDay. 8 high schools from the mandal participated the event and made it successful. District collector Dr.M.V.Reddy visited Krushi Home for inaugurating the Science Fair and we areHonored to have him as the Chief Guest and for making the event a grand success.
  •  All Krushi boys went for an outing to Ramoji Film city along with staff. Boys enjoyed memorabletrip whole day. Col.Narasimha Rao garu supported us to get discount of 50% both for entrance tickets and lunch for boys. Abhaya school management ( Run by Srini , saikorian) supported for the transportation of the trip.
  • Renovation of electrical , plumbing and R.O.Plant works have been completed
  •  25000 Ltrs capacity of water storage sump is constructed at Krushi premises for pumping water to the overhead tanks.
  •  I would like to appreciate the hard work put in by the Krushi Staff in running the organization smoothly. Especially the efforts put in by Mr.Ravikumar & Mr.Vengal Rao are admirable and the interaction they have with donors and well wishers are commendable.
  • Before I conclude , I place on record my deep appreciation to the present Office Bearers who havetaken on the responsibilities without my ever having to prompt or prod them along. We have always worked as a team and it has been a pleasure working with them.

Action taken : As suggested, discussed with Writer Mr Venkatesh to finish the work for Rs 3500/-, He disagreed for that rate. Went to BPCL, Yellampet as suggested by Lt.Col.G.K.Rao and interacted with them and taken contact No. of Mr.Jagan and sent measurements of boards. Tried so many times to get quote from him but no response from his side. Ex-Krushi Boy Koppaka Srinu B/o Venkata Rao agreed to support for fixing glow sign board at Krushi as he is working in the same field.

2) Plumbing repairs overall at Krushi premises.

Action taken : Plumbing material procured with the reference of  Mr.P.Venugopal ( Roll No. 942) Architect. Material delivered by them at a lesser cost of approx 3k to 4k.

3) Purchase of 2 pumps (Single phase) 2 Hp for Recycle plant to operate partially.

Action taken : All the 6 pumps pertaining to the recycling plant system have been repaired and are yet to be connected. Starters are also purchased to fix the pumps. Over all system at the motor room need to be changed for connecting the pumps.

Action Taken : To check the serviceability of the existing SOLAR batteries, Mr.Jagadessh c/o Mr Gunaranjan arranged for 2 in No. New 180 AH batteries for Rs 14,500/- by exchanging old damaged batteries, So the inverter technician was called from RCM Altec to connect the inverter to the batteries but found out that a reverse voltage is detected due to phase mixing with neutral. And also detected a high voltage fluctuation varying from 160 Volts to 310 Volts.

On knowing the above technical issues, preferred to call the electrician who stays in Karimnagar having previous knowledge about Krushi Power Distribution System. After checking the whole system with his equipment, the electrician gave a list of electrical accessories and the quotation including his labor charges for the complete job. The same list being sent to Mr.Venu Architect for an alternate quote since the electrician rates were found to be on the higher side.
