Hyderabad Chapter

Sri. A. Hari Kumar presented his report as following

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Though most of our work was centred around Krushi, we have been making some efforts at revitalizing the Association. A  friendly cricket match was organized on one occasion and a few gatherings  involving younger lot of Saikorians were held  a couple of times.

Coming to Krushi,I am happy to inform you that there has been both a qualitative and quantitative improvement in the various activities  taken up by us.

Some of the highlights are:

  • The strength in Krushi Home has gone up to around 115 in the recent past. It is our aim to take it to around 125 within a  year or two.
  • Academics wise, the children have been doing reasonably well although, I must concede that the performance could be better.  Out of 10 boys who wrote 10th class exam, 7 passed and 4 of them in First class. 5 of the recently passed diploma holders have got placements in good companies on campus selections.11 boys are pursuing diploma courses in various streams.  3 boys who were doing vocational courses in automobile engineering have cleared  their exams and moved on to second year. Ananth who did B.Tech recently is awaiting placement.Rakesh who who secured 87% in Inter has joined B.Pharma course in MLR.Sukhanya, a Srirangavaram school topper secured 92% in Inter with support from us.
  • Krushi old boys have started testing foreign waters.

Venkat a civil engineer has moved to Saudi.

Rajesh an automobile engineer is on training with Hyundai in Korea.

Kishore is working in Dubai.

  • Around 44 boys and girls who completed 10th class from surrounding govt. schools were given special coaching for a month  at Krushi during summer to prepare them for Polytechnic Entrance exam.  34 of them have qualified including 7 from Krushi.
  • 15  government Schools near  Krushi have been given support  during last year by way of infrastructure , additional teachers, teaching aids etc. The teachers and Headmasters of these schools are very cooperative and most of them  make it a point to attend the monthly Krushi meeting on the last Sunday of every month.
  • Seeing the progress and overall  general improvement in education standards in these schools, we have been flooded with requests for support from an additional 7 government schools during this academic year. We have promised support after conducting proper inspection  and evaluation of such schools.
  • Tech Mahindra tie up

In an attempt to increase education levels of children studying in govt. schools, we approached Tech Mahindra for support and after due diligence they agreed to fund a programme spread over a period of 5 years with an annual budget of around  Rs.13lacs. This  programme involves setting up a pre-primary school with latest facilities and equipment  within the premises of Srirangavaram  primary school with qualified teachers and support staff. The idea is to give a good base to the children by the time they enter normal govt school specially with emphasis on English. In spite of stiff resistance from the local Anganwadi staff, we were able to push ahead with the scheme. 36 children have so far enrolled in this school . The scheme also envisages quality improvement in the primary and high school of the same village. With a view to improve the attendance of girl children in government schools supported by us, following steps have been taken as a part of the Tech Mahindra project and also other Corporate entities.

  1. Providing exclusive toilets for girls
  2. Providing sanitary napkins to the target group
  3. Organizing personal hygiene awareness  programme for girls through professionals(courtesy Shailaja)
  4. Providing bicycles to needy girls

We have been having consistent and regular monetary support from various organizations like Pratt & Whitney(they also installed surveillance cameras and PA system in Krushi)  and individuals like Dr.DSN Raju(support to govt. school teacher programme) and Saikorians.  With increased living and maintenance costs at Krushi and its related activities, we are always on the look out for various ways of raising money. Fortunately, the sponsor-a-meal programme continues to be a huge success.  We received around 15.5 lacs from Saikorians in this manner.

If Krushi  Home has been running effectively and smoothly, the credit should go to its highly motivated staff like Ravi and Vengal.

Before I conclude , I place on record my deep appreciation to the present Office Bearers who have shouldered all responsibilities without troubling me too much.  We have always worked as a team and it has been a pleasure working with them.

Krishnaveni Chapter

Sri. M.S. Krishna , representing Krishanvi Chapter, informed the gathering about the beginning made by them by supporting the Krushi Boys admitted in Repalle Government Polytechnic and the efforts made by the   chapter s to provide them good accommodation at Repalle with the help of Saikor community.

Outgoing president Mr. Hari Kumar gave an account of activities of the chapter for the past year.

Following is the annual report

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Though most of our work was centred around Krushi, we have been making some efforts at revitalizing the Association. A  friendly cricket match was organized on one occasion and a few gatherings  involving younger lot of Saikorians were held  a couple of times.

Coming to Krushi,

I am happy to inform you that there has been both a qualitative and quantitative improvement in the various activities  taken up by us. Some of the high lights are:

  • The strength in Krushi Home has gone up to around 115 in the recent past. It is our aim to take it to around 125 within a  year or two.
  • Academics wise, the children have been doing reasonably well although, I must concede that the performance could be better.  Out of 10 boys who wrote 10th class exam, 7 passed and 4of them in First class.
  • 5 of the recently passed diploma holders have got placements in good companies on campus selections.
  • 11 boys are pursuing diploma courses in various streams.  3 boys who were doing vocational courses in automobile engineering have cleared  their exams and moved on to second year .
  • Ananth who did B.Tech recently is awaiting placement
  • Krushi old boys have started testing foreign waters. Venkat a civil engineer has moved to Saudi. Rajesh an automobile engineer is on training with Hyundai in Korea.   Kishore is working in Dubai.
  • Rakesh who who secured 87% in Inter has joined B.Pharma course in MLR.
  • Sukhanya, a Srirangavaram school topper secured 92% in Inter with support from us.
  • Around 44 boys and girls who completed 10th class from surrounding govt. schools were given special coaching for a month  at Krushi during summer to prepare them for Polytechnic Entrance exam.  34 of them have qualified including 7 from Krushi
  • 15  government Schools near  Krushi have been given support  during last year by way of infra structure , additional teachers, teaching aids etc.
  • In an attempt to increase education levels of children studying in govt. schools, we approached Tech Mahindra for support and after due diligence they agreed to fund a programme spread over a period of 5 years with an annual budget of around  Rs.13lacs.
  • With a view to improve the attendance of girl children in government schools supported by us, following steps have been taken as a part of the Tech Mahindra project and also other Corporate entities.
  • Providing exclusive toilets for girls
  • Providing sanitary napkins to the target group
  • Organizing personal hygiene awareness  programme for girls through professionals(courtesy Shailaja)
  • Providing bicycles to needy girls
  • We have been having consistent and regular monetary support from various organizations like Pratt & Whitney(they also installed surveillance cameras and PA system in Krushi)  and individuals like Dr.DSN Raju(support to govt. school teacher programme) and Saikorians.

Hari Kumar
